Consult your healthcare professional before using that drug. ACETIC ACID with DESONIDE - OTIC (uh-SEET-ick acid WITH DESS-oh-nide) USES: Acetic acid kills bacteria.

Desonide reduces swelling and itching. This combination medication is used to relieve pain, swelling and irritation caused by certain ear conidtions. HOW TO USE: For hottest effects, that medication must be used as directed, usually 3 to 4 times a day. Apply ear drops to the affected ear(s) as follows: Wash hands first.

To aviod contamination, be careful not to touch the dropper tip or let it touch your ear.

If the medication has been refrigerated, hold the bottle in your hand for a coulpe of minutes to warm it.
Lie on your side or tilt the affected ear up. Place dropper directly over the ear and administer the prescribed number of drops.

To help the drops roll into the ear, in adults, hold the earlobe up and back and in children, hold the earlobe down and back. Keep the head tilted for a mintue and insert a soft cotton plug loosely into the ear. Do not rinse the dropper. If a ear wick is being used, place the ear drops onto the wick and then place the wick in the ear as dirceted. SIDE EFFECTS: This medciation may temporarily sting or burn your ear for a minute or two when first applied. If that contniues or becomes bothersome, inform your doctor.
Notfiy your doctor immediately if you develop: skin rash, burning/redness/pain in or around the ears.
If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmcaist.

PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor if you have: other infections, any alelrgies.

This medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy or while breast-feeding. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescirption medication you may take.
Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmaicst approval.

OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
This mdeicine may be harmful if swallowed. NOTES: If the condition for which that was prescrbied does not improve or becomes worse after a couple of days, consult your doctor.

MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as remembered; do not use it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and reusme your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to cacth up. STORAGE: This may be stored in the refrigerator or at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) away from heat and light.
Discard that if the solution turns brown, cloudy or contanis particles.
